During the summer of 1999 my wife and I rented a boat access only cabin on Schroon Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. On the wall in the living room of this remarkalbe cabin was a wine cork wall hanging. After eighteen months and many bottles of fine wine I had enough corks to make one for myself. Friends and family made many favorable comments so I made more, experimenting with the design. Today you too can adorn your wall, coffee table, or dinner table with this unique art form.
Originally we provided our own wine corks and each cork had a story, but I can't remember most of them....I wonder why? To keep the flow of corks constant I've enlisted the aid of numerous bartenders and waitresses. On Friday nights my wife and I go wine cork collecting, stopping here and there, sampling wine, enjoying conversation and collecting corks.
Here are the results of our efforts: |
